Senior Product Engineering Manager

A renowned German company in the locks and security field has been operating for 100 years and is expanding its international network. A leading manufacturer of high-quality locks, employing over 300 staff across facilities in Hong Kong and Kaiping City, Guangdong Province, is part of this international group with corporate headquarters in Germany. They specialize in manufacturing premium bike locks and padlocks for global markets and are seeking candidates for the position Senior Product Engineering Manager to support their business expansion. Responsibilities :

Oversee a team of 5 engineers in lock product development.

• Project coordinator in new or modified product concepts
• Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including managing changes to the project scope/schedule, and impact analysis.
• Liaise with overseas product managers at Head Office in Germany and China vendors for technical issues and product design
• Monitor, interpret, ensure all products meet regulatory compliance requirements across various markets, including the EU and US.
• Lead rapid response to quality/technical problems, implement root-cause analysis and corrective actions. 

Requirements :

• Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
• At least 5 year experience, preferable in hardware production, precision mechanical components or sourcing in China
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or ProE is a must. Proficiency in both is a significant advantage.
• Strong technical knowledge of material properties and applications (specifically steel, zinc alloy, and plastics) used in manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of EU product regulations (REACH SVHC, Phthalates, RoHS, PAHs), including specific legislation relevant to the industry.
• Self-driven person who could station in China (Guangdong)
• Practical experience in project management is preferred
• Strong sense in getting right products in competitive prices
• Fluent in spoken English and Putonghua plus good in written English and Chinese
• Capable of interacting with different cultures
• Structured, organized and self-motivated
